You might be wondering why there are no faces of little children in these pictures, you might be thinking that we didn’t take any pictures of the kids because they are not really important and you might think that what’s really important is what they get to do with us, what kind of craft we do with them, or how they behave and how many of them we’re being able to reach.
The real reason why there are no pictures of the precious little children from La Carpio on this post is because there was no time to take any pictures of them. Last Thursday (when these pictures were taken) we were able to hang out with a few dozens of kids raging from 2-17 years of age, all of whom demand one’s attention, approval, focus, compliments, reassurance and require a certain kind of recognition from you. They desire that you take just 30 seconds of your time to pay attention to them to be able to tell them what a great job they’re doing in whatever they are doing the moment, they all want to be able to see in your eyes that they are good kids and that you truly care for them, that you love them just how they are and for who they are. They all want to stand out and be someone’s most important son or daughter, ultimately, they want to feel as they are the ones you and I are most fond of.
“So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.” Matthew 18:4-5
Puedes estar preguntándote porque no hay caritas de niños y niñas en estas fotos? Puedes estar pensando que no tomamos ninguna foto de las chicas y chicos porque no son realmente importantes. Y también puedes pensar que lo que importa mas es lo que ellos y ellas están haciendo con nosotros, que lo que importa es el tipo de manualidad que ellas y ellos están haciendo, o como se están portando, y que a cuantos de estas niñas y niños estamos alcanzando.
La verdadera razón por la que no hay fotografías de los bellos niños y niñas de La Carpio en esta publicación es porque no hubo tiempo para tomarles fotos. El Jueves pasado (cuando se tomaron estas fotos) pudimos pasar tiempo con unas cuantas docenas de chicos y chicas, desde los 2 años hasta los 17 años de edad. Todos ellos y ellas demandan tu atención, tu aprobación, tu concentración, tus halagos, tu consuelo, y todos requieren cierta cantidad de reconocimiento de parte de ti.
Ellos y ellas desean que tomes solo 30 segundos de tu tiempo para prestarles atención para que les digas “Que buen trabajo estas haciendo!” en lo que sea que estén haciendo en el momento. Todas las chicas y chicos quieren ver en tus ojos que son buenos y que de verdad les importas, quieren ver que tus realmente los amas como son y por quienes son. Todas ellas y ellos quieren sobresalir y ser el hijo o hija mas importante, en última instancia quieren sentir que ellos y ellas tienen un espacio especial en tu corazón.
“Así que el que se vuelva tan humilde como este pequeño, es el más importante en el reino del cielo. Todo el que recibe de mi parte a un niño pequeño como éste, me recibe a mí.” Mateo 18:4-5
Una obra de arte que todavía está en marcha. Hemos estado construyendo un Invernadero para el uso de las casas, las madres y padres y sus familias. Planeamos poder cultivar frutas, verduras y hierbas que irán directamente a nuestras cocinas para ayudar a los chicos y chicas a crecer más grandes, mas fuertes y más inteligentes. Todo esto se llevará a cabo con el
árduo trabajo de los chicos y chicas, luego de un poco de preparación. Por favor, continúen ayudando por medio de la oración por nosotros en esta nueva aventura, para que Dios nos muestre cómo utilizar esta nueva instalación para nuestro beneficio. Y que con el tiempo podamos bendecir a otros en nuestra comunidad - a través de lo que Dios nos ha dado.
A work of art that is still in progress. We have been working on a Green-House for the use of our kids' home, the parents and their families. We are planning to be able to grow different fruits, vegetables, and herbs that will go straight into our kitchens to help the kids grow bigger, smarter and stronger, it will all be done with their own two hands and hard work. Please continue to pray for us in this new adventure, pray that God will show us how to use this new facility for our benefit, and in time be able to bless others in our community through what God has given to us.
Matilde tiene ahora quince años de edad. Es una señorita respetuosa, dulce y muy servicial. Ella y sus 3 hermanas vinieron a vivir con nosotros hace relativamente poco tiempo. Él es nuestra fiel sombra, no importa lo que hagamos, él siempre quiere ir con nosotros y siempre encuentra algo para hacer. En muchas culturas, tu nombre es muy importante, especialmente si tiene un significado. El nombre "Emanuel" significa "Dios con nosotros". Si nuestro amigo Emanuel siempre quiere estar con nosotros, como no querra Dios estas contigo? No crees que Él quiere estar contigo? No crees que Él quiere estar en tu vida?
